Still, I wanted to explicitly call out the fact that Poison sumac (Toxicodendron vernix) is more closely related to Poison Ivy and Poison Oak (Toxicodendron spp.) than other edible sumac species (Rhus). Its similarity in this case is only in name! There were several details I couldn’t fit into 1 minute for this video, like the fact that Poison Sumac’s habitat is typically limited to very wet, boggy areas.
