We’re thrilled to announce the first use of the brand-new manatee release ramp at Blue Spring State Park, and it came with a familiar face, a manatee known as ‘Churro’! This rehabilitated manatee was originally rescued with her mom, ‘Reckless,’ in 2022 from in the Indian River Lagoon. After a release in early 2024, she was separated from her mom and, as a young manatee with limited wild experience, needed another rescue. ‘Churro’ was relocated to Blue
