Throwback to hatching one of my favorites, Madrean alligator lizards (Elgaria kingii). Rubbing the eggs stimulates hatching because it mimics if the egg next door was hatching and queues the nest to hatch all at the same time. I have a females that will hopefully breed next year, and they ate their last meals of the year earlier this week.
