Quicksand Rescue is one of the reasons Bay Search and Rescue was originally formed. In 1996 a quicksand rescue took place which was to change the level of safety around the Bay for ever . Terry Howlet found himself stuck in a channel in the Bay and was trapped there overnight, only for his cry’s for help to heard the next morning at 0530 by the farmer checking his sheep.
