Bacterial (Pyogenic) – most common • Germs from the gut (e.g. E. coli, Klebsiella) spread to the liver. • Often from gallbladder disease, bile duct infection, or appendicitis. 2. Amebic (Parasitic) • Caused by Entamoeba histolytica. • Spread by dirty food or water (fecal–oral route). • Common in developing countries. 3. Fungal • Usually Candida.
