Jul 27, 2018 · In 1978, our founder Graham Simpson and his wife Yianna set up Simply Crete, a tiny, service-orientated holiday company that was to set the tone and direction of his professional life. 40 years and many happy guests later, we came together as a company this month to celebrate the adventure and the achievement of his four decades in travel.

It was the threat of financial ruin that forced Graham Simpson to expand his first holiday company, Simply Travel. Until then, it had operated villas only in Greece and Turkey, but the outbreak of the Gulf War in 1990 put customers off travelling to these parts of Europe.

Looking back, I can recall various times in life when events have taken me in a direction I could never have imagined. But none of these pivotal moments have been more dramatic or unexpected than the onset of the pandemic.
