The Weeknd has donated $1 million to relief efforts amid the ongoing wildfire crisis in the Los Angeles area, spreading out his contribution among three different organizations working to aid victims and repair the city.

The Weeknd has committed to donating $1 million to Los Angeles firefighters and residents following the devastating wildfires that ravaged the city.

Los Angeles has played a character in the Weeknd's music for years, particularly on the ominous and commanding After Hours. The 2020 record - which featured the fan-favorite "Escape From LA" - marked the first in the album trilogy that was originally scheduled to conclude on Jan.
