The person who opened fire on campus remained at large. “Obviously we have a murderer out there,” Rhode Island's attorney general said.

A shelter-in-place order remains in effect for the greater Brown University area, officials said on Saturday night.

Neither the victims nor the person of interest have been identified yet in the shooting that left two dead and nine others injured.

Brown University leaders also outlined the ways students and staff can get help if they need it. They posted numbers that can be called for immediate and 24/7 mental health support, as well as centers that are open on campus here. The public is invited to a vigil at 5 p.m. Sunday at Lippitt Park on Hope Street in Providence.
