Catastrophic flooding in Central Texas has prompted rescue and recovery efforts for an unknown number of people, including families in the Houston area.

Heavy rain fell in a matter of hours on Texas Hill Country in the central part of the state. The rain inundated communities and left scores of people dead and missing. The region is dotted with century-old summer camps that draw thousands of kids annually.
