King County emergency officials issued an urgent "Go Now" evacuation order Monday for some residents and businesses in Tukwila, Renton and Kent, after a breach in the Desimone Levee sent floodwaters into nearby neighborhoods.
Auburn residents dealing with Green River flooding face several more days of high water, according to KIRO Newsradio meteorologist Ted Buehner.
The water flow is expected to increase by about 10% to return to normal levels, according to a press release by the corps.
A levee failure along the Green River prompted immediate evacuation orders for parts of Tukwila and Kent on Monday, closing roads and flooding an industrial area as crews worked urgently to plug the breach with sand and gravel.
