BYU and Notre Dame appeared to be headed for a bowl game meeting — until the Fighting Irish declined the opportunity.
The Cougars have accepted an invitation to play in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, where they will face ACC foe Georgia Tech, according to a Sunday report from Brett McMurphy of On3 Sports. The news comes after McMurphy’s earlier report of Notre Dame electing to forego a bowl game entirely rather than play BYU in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
