Manning understands the level of attention and scrutiny that comes with his family’s last name, but says he hasn’t done enough to earn his current stardom.

Manning, the highly touted quarterback from the famed Manning family, said Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian played a key role in his decision. “Coach Sark just told me to be myself and be a leader and work hard, and it’ll all work out,” Manning said.

He went to Texas knowing Ewers was the guy and even stayed after Ewers decided to return for the 2024 season. In a recent interview with ESPN's Marty Smith, Manning revealed why he wanted to be the Longhorns' quarterback so badly.
