Heading into Week 2 of fall camp, Alabama football offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb said, initially, that reps for all three quarterbacks vying for the Crimson Tide's starting spot would be "status quo.

Ryan Grubb will miss having Jam Miller in the Alabama football backfield. Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer announced Miller suffered an "upper-body injury" in the Crimson Tide's second fall scrimmage. He "went in for a procedure" and is expected to "recover fully with a timetable for his return yet to be determined."

After spring football, Grubb said that if Alabama were to play a game "tomorrow," Simpson, the redshirt junior, would be the starting quarterback. As fall continues, Grubb said that's a mentality Simpson must hold consistently if he wants to be named the starter full-time.
