Political leaders in Rhode Island and across the country have offered their condolences to those affected by the mass shooting at Brown University.

The person of interest appears to be a man in his 20s, and it is unclear if they are affiliated with Brown University.

The Brown University community was devastated after a deadly shooting at an engineering building left two people dead and eight others wounded.

"I have been briefed on the shooting the took place at Brown University in Rhode Island. The FBI is on the scene," President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social. "God bless the victims and the families of the victims.

Police confirmed a multi-victim shooting at Brown University, with at least two people suffering gunshot wounds.
