President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Pope Leo XIV in Rome on Tuesday, as Ukraine said it was preparing to send updated proposals to the U.S. for ending the war with Russia.

A Ukrainian peace plan, sent this week to Washington, pushes back against President Trump’s proposal that Ukraine give up more land for peace.

Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the President was “extremely frustrated" with both Moscow and Kyiv over the lack of progress toward a settlement.
