A Republican mainstay who served multiple presidents, Mr. Bolton has become a persistent Trump critic since leaving the White House.

A person familiar with the matter says the FBI is searching the Maryland home of John Bolton, who served in President Donald Trump’s first administration as national security adviser but later became critical of the president.

The president said he is looking to continue sending troops to major cities after deployments in D.C. and Los Angeles.
