New atmospheric river arriving in the flood-wary Pacific Northwest
The Pacific Northwest will have much of the weekend to dry out after days of flooding rainfall, but there is another atmospheric river set to wash ashore by early this week.Flooding will continue as runoff from previous events continues to move through the Cascades and down toward Puget Sound.
Flooding rains and lingering storm impacts come as the atmospheric river that hit the Pacific Northwest this week will make another visit to the region next week.
The unusually long atmospheric river is forecast to bring heavy rain and high winds to Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia starting Monday.
KOIN 6 Chief Meteorologist Josh Cozart explains when the second visit from this week's atmospheric river is expected to move back into the Pacific Northwest.
