The Toronto Maple Leafs called up Alex Steeves this week. It is a well-deserved call-up, as Steeves is having a career season with the American Hockey League (AHL) Toronto Marlies.

According to Terry Koshan and Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun, Stolarz will start in net for the Maple Leafs Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes, and Alex Steeves will draw into the lineup with Max Pacioretty out for the weekend.

The Maple Leafs have recalled F Alex Steeves from the Toronto Marlies (AHL). Toronto is practicing later this afternoon and Steeves, who has 29 goals and 17 assists in 40 AHL games this season, will participate. The forward leads the AHL in goals and is two off the league lead in points.
