The Hays County Health Department said a Gaines County resident visited San Marcos, where Texas State is located, on Feb. 14. That individual has since tested positive for measles.
Two Texas universities have issued warnings about potential exposure to measles after someone who toured both campuses about 10 days ago tested positive. The state's health department says there are more than 90 cases of measles in West Texas,
Over the past month, the virus has spread in areas with low vaccination rates, and most of those affected are minors.
Watch for measles symptoms like high fever, ear infections, runny nose, pink eye, and a rash that can go from head to toe. If you have any, call your doctor immediately.
