The Canadiens announced an unfortunate Kaiden Guhle injury update as they continue to chase a Wild Card spot in the East.

Guhle scored a goal on three shots, blocked two shots and had one hit in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Red Wings. Guhle's wrist shot from the point looked harmless, but it worked its way through several bodies and past Cam Talbot.

Talbot kept the Red Wings’ two-goal lead intact at 5:05 of the third period by shutting down Cole Caufield’s breakaway attempt. Detroit’s penalty kill also answered the call after the club unsuccessfully challenged for no goaltender interference just past the halfway mark of the frame.

The Canadiens had a challenging schedule last week, facing the Lightning, the Red Wings, and the Devils ... The same goes for Kaiden Guhle. Carrier has three points in his last five games ...
