Project Linus recruits volunteers to create quilts and other handmade, washable blankets to distribute to seriously ill and traumatized children up to age 18.

Sartain became involved with Project Linus in 2007 after learning about the organization at a quilting shop. After volunteering for a year, she formed her group.

Two of her quilt patterns — Channer’s Checkers and Sock It To Me — are among the more than 20 featured in “Quilt It with Love: The Project Linus Story” published by Lark Crafts.
