Lionsgate, Starz businesses split after court approval

Lions Gate Entertainment (NYSE:LGF.A) (NYSE:LGF.B) fully splits its studio and premium TV businesses into two stand-alone publicly traded companies Tuesday, after receiving final court approval on the long-running plan.

Starz Entertainment, Lionsgate Studios Rise Following Separation

Lions Gate Entertainment, which bought Starz in 2016, said in December 2023 that it would separate its studios business and merge it with Screaming Eagle Acquisition, a special-purpose acquisition company. That transaction closed in May 2024.
