Penn State lands 2026 QB Kase Evans after the Kalen DeBoer rumors fade and his Iowa State staff core follows him to Happy Valley.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer just laid to rest any possibility of him becoming Penn State’s next permanent head coach. DeBoer was asked Thursday about his thoughts on people “linking” him to the open Penn State job. “There’s never been any link (to Penn State),” said DeBoer in a story posted on AL.com
Alabama held its fourth CFP practice on Monday morning, and DeBoer is scheduled to speak to the media at 1 p.m. CT. BamaCentral will provide updates from the press conference with a full transcript and video to be posted on the site following the conclusion.
While DeBoer has been preparing for the College Football Playoff and even before the season, when Alabama had their eyes set on a matchup against Georgia in the SEC title game, the Crimson Tide coach has been involved in coaching carousel rumors. DeBoer’s name has been involved in the head coach openings at Michigan and Penn State.
Because of that DeBoer's name will be linked with high-profile jobs, including the opening at Penn State, but DeBoer denied any connections with Penn State during a Thursday press conference.
