Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody will take Marco Rubio’s seat in the U.S. Senate. Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the appointment on Thursday, making Moody only the second woman to represent Florida in the chamber.

Ashley Moody, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ pick to replace Sen. Marco Rubio in the upper chamber, spent much of her tenure as Florida attorney general opposing Biden administration policies and advocating for conservative legal causes in the courtroom.
