Kia unveiled the EV4, PV5, and Concept EV2 at the brand’s EV day in Tarragona, Spain on 27 March. The three new models define Kia’s latest phase of its electrification strategy. The Kia PV5 is the first vehicle from the brand’s new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy.

Kia plans to build 140,000 EV4s annually, with 50,000 slated for the U.S. The EV4 is expected to start at €37,000 ($38,841) including VAT, but prices for the American market have yet to be announced. The sedan will go on sale in Korea in March while the Europe-exclusive hatchback will follow in the second half of the year.

Kia used its EV Day presentation on Thursday in Tarragona, Spain, to unveil the Concept EV2, an electric subcompact crossover set to spawn a production model in 2026.

Kia has upped the fun quotient with a new messaging system. The Concept EV2 lets drivers display a message in text on the car's windows, much like Continental's exhibit at CES this year. The triangular door speakers are removable, so you can take them with you for music when you're on the go outside of your car.

Shown as a concept at Kia EV Day, the new EV2 will be targeted at compact electric cars such as the Renault 5 and Jeep Avenger.
