THIS edition of Part 3 of Winchell's “Elements of Optical Mineralogy”, now published separately, entirely supersedes the earlier edition, which was incorporated with Parts 1 and 2 in one volume.
THE first edition of this book appeared in 1902. It was clearly written, admirably illustrated by drawings and photographs, and it soon became a standard text-book on the subject of pure mineralogy.
