After no ticket matched all six numbers drawn in Wednesday night’s Powerball jackpot drawing, the prize has now grown to an estimated $1.5 billion.
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. According to USA TODAY, the “Power Play” option costs an extra $1 per play and can multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 10 times. The “Double Play” option is also an additional $1 per play. Meaning that a single ticket could cost a total of $4 if both “Power Play” and “Double Play” are selected.
