Manchester City eased into the semi-finals of the League Cup with a 2-0 home win over Brentford on Wednesday, while holders Newcastle United needed an added-time Lewis Miley goal to beat Fulham 2-1 at St James' Park.

Fulham have completed the signing of Danish full back Niclas Jensen. The Denmark international has signed a two-year deal at Craven Cottage after the West London club agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund. The 31-year-old has sealed a move back to The Premiership, where he has previously starred for Manchester City.
