Chicago weather: Snowfall threat remains for Sunday, mostly in NW Indiana
Chicagoans woke up to a dusting of snow and below-average temps this morning but a decent warm-up is on the way.
It’s been a fairly cloudy stretch, but sunshine is back in earnest on Wednesday as the center of high pressure moves over the area later in the day.
After experiencing a deep freeze through much of January, the Chicago area is going to see near-record warmth in coming days.
Sunshine is set to dominate Sunday afternoon, with highs around 55°F before temperatures ease back into the low 50s by late afternoon. Light west northwest winds of about 5 mph are expected, with occasional gusts up to 15 mph during the day, according to the National Weather Service Chicago.
