A Southwest Airlines plane and a private jet that entered the runway without authorization experienced a close call at Chicago Midway International Airport on Tuesday morning, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

Southwest Flight 2504 performed a precautionary "go-around" to avoid hitting a private jet that entered the runway "without authorization."

A Southwest flight had to quickly abort its landing to avoid a potential collision with a private jet on the runway at Chicago's Midway Airport.
