Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Quinn Priester impressed everyone on Saturday. That includes Brewers manager Pat Murphy, which is a notable achievement given how Murphy initially evaluated Priester when Milwaukee acquired the 24-year-old from the Boston Red Sox on April 7.

Quinn Priester struck out a career-high 11 batters in seven innings of one-hit ball, Joey Ortiz homered for the third time in four games, and the Milwaukee Brewers extended their winning streak to four with a 5-0 victory over the major league-worst Colorado Rockies.

Priester finished his afternoon with a career-best 20 swings and misses, including an eye-popping 16 whiffs on 23 hacks against his breaking balls. Primarily a sinker-slider pitcher for most of the year to date, Priester credited the advancement of the cutter and curveball, his lesser-used secondaries, for the increased whiffs.
