As the NFL season creeps toward Christmas, the reigning Super Bowl MVP looks nothing like it. In fact, Jalen Hurts is so out of sorts, his coach has been forced to confirm Hurts will remain Philadelphia's starting QB entering Week 15.
The NFL released its list of fines from the Week 14 games, and two Philadelphia Eagles players were punished from the Chargers game.
According to Elias Sports Bureau, Hurts became the first player since at least 1978 — when Elias starting tracking statistics — to commit two turnovers on one play. “This is maybe the most wild play I’ve ever seen,” Eagles legend and ESPN analyst Jason Kelce said on the “Monday Night Football” halftime show.
Jalen Hurts is facing a challenging season with the Eagles, who have lost three straight games. Despite winning the Super Bowl just 10 months ago, Hurts is in a slump, throwing four interceptions and losing a fumble in an overtime loss to the Chargers.
After a disastrous offensive battle between the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, the Chargers came out on top with a 22-19 overtime win in Inglewood, California.
Nick Sirianni on the possibility of a change at the quarterback spot this season: "I think that's ridiculous...I know every time I go out in that field with Jalen Hurts as our quarterback, we have a chance to win the game." pic.twitter.com/nWIE2SWDMc
A nightmarish five-turnover game from Jalen Hurts in the Eagles’ Week 14 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers led some to wonder aloud if it would be beneficial to bench the quarterback for the team’s Week 15 game against the Raiders.
The Eagles’ offense is a mess, and much of the finger-pointing is directed at Hurts, who had five turnovers in Philadelphia’s third straight loss.
