We here at Shacknews also named Sega the Best Publisher of 2024 during the Shacknews Awards. We specifically called out excellent games like Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio as games that put Sega in a tier above the rest of the industry.

In the top 10 for 2024, Microsoft is ninth on this ladder with Astro Bot publisher Sony in fourth spot. Taking out first is SEGA (jumping from ninth place) with games like Metaphor: ReFantazio, and dethroning Capcom who recently released Monster Hunter Wilds.

By this metric, Capcom still managed a very impressive #2 ranking, barely edged out by SEGA; still deserving of its Capgod status. Interestingly, Aksys Games secured the #3 spot, with its highest scoring game being Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II at 83.

SEGA came out on top in the latest list, with an average Metascore of 82.9 across a whopping 29 products (12 titles) released in 2024. Capcom, Sony and Microsoft all landed spots in the top 10, with the likes of Devolver Digital, Annapurna Interactive and Ubisoft all claiming a spot on the ladder ahead of Nintendo.
