Laura Caron was 28 years old when she was impregnated by a 13-year-old former student, and the whole situation unraveled when the child's father started asking questions on Facebook, according to a criminal affidavit.

Police say the case was brought to light when the victim's father made a social media post saying Caron's 5-year-old child looked very similar to him and his son.

A 34-year-old New Jersey teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting a student when the child resided in her home several years ago. Laura R. Caron, of the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township, had “an inappropriate sexual relationship” between 2016 and 2020 with a student born in 2005, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office said.
