Houston won’t formally acquire Kevin Durant and Clint Capela until this weekend, and The Athletic says the deal may involve an NBA-record seven teams.

If the Kevin Durant trade to the Rockets wasn't already big enough, it sounds like this could end up being a record-breaking move.

The Athletic's Fred Katz reported Wednesday night that the Houston Rockets' Kevin Durant deal with the Phoenix Suns could expand into a seven-team bonanza. The five other teams reported to be involved are the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves
