A document purportedly from the United Auto Workers union claims the GT500 will return for 2026, packing an engine called 'Legend.'

Shelby looks to be planning a new GT500, according to a leaked United Auto Workers (UAW) document posted in the Mustang7G forum. The document directly references an upcoming 2026 GT500 while notifying UAW workers of additional shifts planned to increase production volumes and make room for the upcoming Shelby model.

The last Mustang Shelby GT500 hit the dealerships in 2022, but it sounds like Ford is ready to bring the GT500 back with a pretty significant upgrade.
