Before you head out to Thursday's 'Good Trouble Lives On' protests in Jacksonville and across the nation, here are some tips to keep you safe.

The nationwide protests are in response to the Trump administration’s efforts to undermine civil rights and democratic institutions, organizers say.

"Good trouble" is a term coined by U.S. Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights leader who, among other things, helped organize the March on Washington in 1963 alongside Martin Luther King Jr. The protests are being held on July 17 because it marks the fifth anniversary of his passing.
