The country’s largest beer company is closing its last Bay Area brewing facility. Anheuser-Busch announced Thursday morning it’s shutting down operations at its Fairfield plant early next year.
Anheuser-Busch plans to close its Fairfield plant in early 2026, part of a sweep of divestments nationwide by the Belgium-based beverage maker, the company confirmed in a statement Thursday. The company will also sell a facility in Newark, New Jersey, and close a facility in Merrimack, New Hampshire, the statement said.
FAIRFIELD, Calif — The planned closure of Anheuser-Busch’s Fairfield facility in early 2026 is expected to affect workers, families and city finances, with residents likely to see higher water and sewer rates, Mayor Catherine Moy said Thursday.
