Playing without Jaylen Brown for the first time this season, Derrick White, Jordan Walsh and the Celtics crushed the last-place Wizards 146-101. Next up: Friday night against the Lakers.
Derrick White scored a season-high 30 points, Jordan Walsh added a career-high 22 and the Boston Celtics, playing without Jaylen Brown, routed the Washington Wizards 146-101 on Thursday night.
Derrick White added that Jayson Tatum’s advice is meant to support the team. He said, “Obviously a great basketball mind. Throughout the game, he is there to support us, tell us what he sees, give us encouragement, and do a lot of other things. So it is always great to have something like that.”
Boston ruled out starters Neemias Queta (left ankle sprain injury management) and Derrick White (right calf contusion) for its matchup with Cleveland at Rocket Arena. Jayson Tatum also was ruled out as he continues his recovery from Achilles surgery.
The Celtics are being careful considering they play Tuesday against the Knicks, followed by games in Washington, home against the Lakers, and in Toronto.
Derrick White and Neemias Queta both missed the win over the Cavaliers on Sunday, but they look like they'll be back on the court soon.
