The Derby Fire that more than tripled in size on Tuesday saw "significant fire growth overnight," prompting early Wednesday morning evacuations north of Dotsero and Interstate 70.

A wildfire burning in a difficult-to-access area of the White River National Forest in Eagle County more than tripled in size Tuesday, prompting closures and evacuations, fire officials said.

The fire about 15 miles north of Dotsero was sparked by lightning on Saturday and has since grown to nearly 850 acres.
