John Cena Retires From WWE
Digest more
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Tuesday, Cena hinted that Brock Lesnar may retire after SummerSlam, making his Minneapolis appearance his final dance with the WWE. Lesnar recently returned to the WWE from a two-year absence that coincided with him being named in a sex trafficking lawsuit against the company and Vince McMahon.
Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE television at SummerSlam 2025, confronting John Cena, who had just lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes. Lesnar laid out Cena, setting up a match between the two at WWE Wrestlepalooza. The match was a quick affair with Lesnar winning.
While SmackDown boasts some star power in the form of WWE champion Cody Rhodes, WWE women's champion Jade Cargill, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tiffany Stratton, it is fair to say Raw has the more stacked roster.
John Cena has now responded after Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, and others sent him emotional messages before his retirement match this weekend.
