Brandon Marsh, Justin Crawford and Adolis Garcia in the outfield. What could go wrong?!?
The team’s signing of Adolis Garcia to (presumably) handle right field duties in 2026 means that the Phillies are likely moving on from Nick Castellanos. His tenure likely ends with a whisper and fighting words with the manager.
Garcia amounts to another reclamation project for the Phillies in the mold of Max Kepler, whom the club signed to a one-year, $10 million deal almost one year ago on Dec. 19, 2024. Garcia was an All-Star in 2023 when he hit 39 home runs and drove in 107 runs for the World Series champion Rangers.
The Philadelphia Phillies have a one-year deal in place with right fielder Adolis García, which could be an issue for Nick Castellanos.
Garcia has many of the same struggles as Castellanos. They are largely to blame for his back-to-back down seasons. But even that version is better than the player Castellanos has been lately.
The Texas Rangers took a low-risk chance on Adolis García years ago, and it worked out entirely in their favor.
